Association of Latvian Young Scientists summer school "Science and Society"

Description

The annual ALYS summer school was held in Cesis, Rucka manor, in which more than 30 young scientists and doctoral students participated. Within the framework of this year's central theme "Science and society", we looked at various aspects of the interaction of scientists with the wider society. The summer school covered topic on:
- how to give excellent presentations on your research topics;
- how a scientist can successfully communicate with society;
- what is open science and how not to confuse it with the offer of predatory journals;
- opportunities for a scientist's career outside the academic environment;
- digital skills useful for research.
