Riga Stradins University is currently implementing Latvian Council of Science funded project “Socially responsible green transition: enhancing governance solutions to empower Homo Climaticus in the healthcare sector (GreenCare)” (ID: lzp-2023/1-0341).The project is aimed to evaluate and analyse economic risks for socially responsible green transition in the healthcare.
This study was performed to identify economic risks for socially responsible green transition in the healthcare.
Literature review was performed to gain the latest research results on the socially responsible green transition.
Study questions:
What are the economic risks for socially responsible green transition in the healthcare?
WHAT ARE THE ECONOMIC RISKS FOR SOCIALLY REPONSIBLE GREEN TRANSITION?
(1) Some groups of low-skilled workers might exprience a market decline in their job opportunities (Nordic Council of Ministers, 2020);
(2) Physical investments in energy and infrstructure (Ibid.);
(3) Taxes on fossil fuels (Patriarca & Vona, 2012);
(4) Lowering purchasing power (Maddassar et al, 2022);
(5) Accessibility to healthcare services.
