Description

The H.A.R.M.O.N.Y. project, dedicated to promoting mental well-being in European workplaces, has officially launched with a successful kick-off meeting held in Riga, Latvia, on February 26-27, 2025. Hosted at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education and Technology Centre, the event brought together a diverse consortium of higher education institutions, vocational education and training providers, research institutions, small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and EU-wide network organizations.
The two-day meeting facilitated collaborative discussions and strategic planning for the project's initial stages. Participants were welcomed by RSU and received online congratulations and guidance from the Grant Authority on project implementation, reporting, and communication.
During the meeting project Steering and Quality Monitoring Committees were established to ensure a strong foundation for project governance and quality assurance.
Partners engaged in in-depth discussions regarding key project concepts and priorities, emphasizing the need to define "problematic words" such as "mental health," "stress," "depression," and "anxiety" within the project's context. They also addressed strategies for data gathering and the project's focus on workers with mental health issues versus psychosocial hazards at work, confirming that data will be gathered through interviews and surveys conducted at national level.
The H.A.R.M.O.N.Y. project is united in its approach to support European SMEs and their employees in proactively addressing and preventing the negative impacts of mental health challenges that are prevalent in today's demanding work environments.
Stay tuned for updates as we begin our journey to create healthier and more resilient workplaces across Europe!
