The aim of this visit was to conduct training that would allow the participant to learn new research methods and practical skills in the field of virology and immunology that could be applied in the implementation of the participant's doctoral thesis and any future research endeavors.Concrete tasks of the exchange visit:

HIV patient clinical sample processing at the HIV HGM BioBank:
1.HIV patient clinical sample processing - peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) isolation from whole blood samples, cell counting, preparation for cryopreservation.
Work within the project “Dendritic-cell based therapeutic vaccines against HIV-1 infection”:
1.PBMC isolation from blood donor whole blood samples and CD14+ cell selection and differentiation into immature dendritic cells (iDC)
2.Nanoparticle (anionic and cationic carbosilane dendron) and peptide complex formation
3.Nanoparticle-peptide complex formation confirmation with gel electrophoresis
4.Nanoparticle-peptide complex and peptide cytotoxicity assessment using MTT assay
5.Nanoparticle-peptide complex and peptide uptake visualization by confocal microscopy
