Involvement of persistent viral infections in the development of nervous system diseases (ME/CFS)

Activity: Talk or presentation typesOral presentation

Description

The obtained results show that ME/CFS patients with high HHV-6 A/B load have a more severe course of the disease. Elevated levels of antibodies against β2AdR and M4 receptors in ME/CFS patients support their usage as clinical biomarkers in the diagnostic algorithm of ME/CFS. Our results denies the clinical utility of activin B as biomarker for ME/CFS. Clinically, the respondents with increased activin B levels show a tendency to have lower visual analogue scale (VAS) score, however without statistical significance (p=0.5085).
