    The lecture “Managing Caries with MID: A Combination of Strategies for Better Outcomes” explored an integrated, patient-centred approach to modern caries management. It highlighted how multiple evidence-based strategies can be combined to deliver truly individualized care, illustrated through several comprehensive clinical case examples. A key element was the presentation of patient-centred outcomes from the NoCaries clinical trial, complemented by findings from economic evaluations (IEVA WP4) and qualitative research (IEVA WP2) demonstrating parents’ preference for having treatment options. The lecture also emphasised that successful adoption of contemporary Minimally Invasive Dentistry approaches requires first de-implementing outdated and ineffective caries management practices.
