Within the framework of the implementation of the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, the conference focused on open science monitoring and assessment of its impact. The specific objectives of the conference were to present the key findings of the project Open Science Impact Pathways (PathOS) project, which aims to identify and measure the multifaceted impacts of open science while advancing state-of-the-art methodologies for its assessment, and launch the principles for open science monitoring developed by UNESCO and the Open Science Monitoring Initiative (OSMI). Additionally, it discussed the process for monitoring the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation. By convening global experts, policymakers, and practitioners, the event fostered collaboration across diverse initiatives, contributing to the advancement of effective open science monitoring practices.
