Description

Fatigue, including its mental component, and drowsiness are not identical concepts, but their parameters and links can overlap. It has been confirmed that drowsiness is more dangerous than fatigue in many application areas. The parameters of drowsiness are easier to determine than those of fatigue, especially for determining the extreme state of drowsiness, i.e., falling asleep. Fatigue does not have such a clearly defined extreme state. The results of the study have made it possible to develop a monitoring system that not only determines the level of drowsiness during work but also, with a preemptive alert system, prevents the final state of drowsiness – falling asleep.
