Description
Supervision of a bachelor's thesis -Characteristics of employees in relation to their willingness to work remotely in the future/ Nodarbināto raksturojums saistībā ar vēlmi nākotnē strādāt attālināti.According to Kantar 2022 data, 8% of the Latvian population work remotely up to 100% of their total working time, while 24% work in a hybrid mode and this figure continues to grow, mainly due to the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic (https://www.incsr.eu/tresdala-latvijas-iedzivotaju-strada-attalinati-vai-hibriddarba-rezima/). Remote working gives companies flexibility - it helps to reduce energy costs, prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the workplace and attract skilled workers from other cities or abroad - but it also requires adaptation and new organisational approaches (). On the workers' side, there are both clear advantages, such as reduced travel time and the possibility to plan work schedules more freely, and challenges, such as blurring the boundaries between work and private life (ibid.). Furthermore, a survey of Latvian salaried employees found that the possibility to work remotely is one of the factors contributing to workers' satisfaction with their current job (Ibid). These works give an insight into how prepared the Latvian society is to continue remote working practices, i.e. what policies have been developed, whether they have been effectively implemented, and what criteria an employee uses to choose to work in or out of the office.
