Supervision of bachelor thesis - Work related mental strain for Surgical nurse compared to other nursing specializations/ Ķirurģijas māsu spriedzes izraisoši darba vides faktori salīdzinājumā ar citu māsu specializācijām.

The work contains theoretical and practical parts.
In the theoretical part of the study physical strain factors, such as infection risk,
ergonomically inappropriate environment, intensive work, as well as emotional factors, which do affect nursing profession in daily work are analyzed. .
In the practical part of the research, Swedish ”Quality -Work-Competence” (QWC)
database is used. The survey is created within the framework of NURED project and was conducted in three major cities of Latvia - Riga, Daugavpils and Liepaja. 432 nurses with different specialization were studied, selected without age limitation. 47 questions from sociodemographic section of the QWC survey were adapted for this research, and 10 work environment tension factors were evaluated.
The study hypothesis of this thesis is comfirmed in part – the study proved that three out of ten work related strain factors are statistically different to surgical and operation nurses, namely - problems with administration and intensive work assessmen, as well as lack of time and congestion tesion factors for ambulatory nurses.
