Description
Most adult psychiatric disorders start in adolescence and effective correction methods are available for most of them. Early psychological research with safe and reasonable tools, evaluation of emotional and behavioural problems, and provision of adequate help, predicts significant improvements in the adolescent's further psychosocial development. It is important to create a tool to recognise these disruptions. The purpose of this study is to perform an initial version of the “Oppositional Defiant Disorder” scale of the behavioural and emotional impairment assessment tool. Adolescents from 13 to 18 whose mother language is Latvian will participate in the study. Based on a theoretical literature analysis, an initial set of statements was developed based primarily on ICD-11 and DSM-5 classifications for symptoms of the diagnosis of oppositionally defiant disorder. This is followed by an evaluation by 4 experts, where the content of the allegations was assessed according to the criteria (content quality) on the Likert scale (1 - not at all – 5 - fully met), after which the articles were improved, reformulated, and supplemented. The teenager was then given a semi-structured interview and face Validity - the obvious validity, where 10 teenagers (13–19 years) were asked to assess the verses on the Likert scale (1 - not at all - 5 - fully compliant), after which the necessary adjustments were also made. To evaluate the psychometric properties of the constructed scale items, reaction and discrimination indices, as well as Cronbach's alpha coefficient, were examined. To accomplish this, a pilot study was conducted involving a survey of 30 adolescents. Adolescent participation ensued with parental consent, strictly adhering to confidentiality and personal data protection norms pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679. Ethical authorization was obtained from the RSU Ethics Committee and the CDC, authorizing the utilization of patient data throughout and subsequent to the study.| Period | 21 Jul 2024 → 26 Jul 2024 |
