This intensive training course for data stewards covered such topics: principles of Research Data management, best practices for organizing, documenting, and preserving research data across various disciplines, metadata, standards documentation, comprehensive data documentation, metadata schema design and implementation, controlled vocabularies, ontologies, thesauri, and taxonomies for improved searchability, understanding the model of Open Science Competency Centers and best practices for establishing and maintaining robust Research data management support structures, hands on experience with essential tools and services for managing and processing and sharing data as it relates to FAIR principles, introduction to DMPs: Data Management Plan as part of the research workflow – understanding the role of data management in everyday work, data security, privacy, and ethical considerations within the context of research data management, a detailed overview of GDPR and other relevant data privacy regulations, including their implications for research data management, best practices for protecting data security and maintaining participant confidentiality throughout the research lifecycle, data protection impact assessments, data anonymization and de-identification, introduction to project management principles and methodologies.
