RSU Stomatology Institute study shows 12-year-olds have average DMFT of 2.5 (twice the European 1.1), with deep cavities in 71.9% and caries signs in 98.5%. Researcher Sergio E. Uribe stresses caries is largely preventable via sugar control, fluoride, hygiene habits, and regular dental visits—offering major potential to improve child and lifelong health in Latvia.
