Latvian Personality Inventory (LPI-v3) in an Athlete Population

Dataset

Description

This dataset was collected to examine the relationship between personality traits and athletic characteristics among a diverse sample of athletes. It includes data from 923 participants across various sports and competitive levels (elite, pre-elite and amateur). The dataset comprises demographic information (e.g., age, gender, sport type, training load) and psychological measures based on the Latvian Personality Inventory (LPI-v3; developed by Perepjolkina, 2014). Data were gathered using a structured self-report questionnaire administered electronically. The inventory includes 100 items rated on a 5-point Likert scale, measuring six major personality domains and 24 subscales. No scoring or recoding (e.g., reverse-coded items) has been applied. The dataset contains unprocessed raw responses, allowing for flexible scoring, psychometric analysis, and adaptation to different research needs in sport psychology and personality assessment.
