Description
Acquired experimental data on the possible link between human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) infection and autoimmune thyroiditis. Data on HHV-6 presence were acquired using various PCR methods - both qualitative and quantitative using either DNA or cDNA as a template isolated from thyroid tissues or blood. Quantitative data on HHV-6 load were processed per PCR kit manufacturer instructions (Sacace Biotechnologies). Data on cytokine levels were acquired using commercially available multiplex kits and the Luminex 200 system.
