Presence of human herpesvirus 6 and cytokines in fibromyalgia patients

Dataset

Description

Purpose: detection of human herpes virus 6 A and B genomic sequences, viral load, virus specific IgG class antibodies and cytokine levels in fibromyalgia patients and healthy controls. Data include information about 17 fibromyalgia patients age, gender, body mass index, fatigue severity, widespread pain index, the symptom severity, daily usage of medications, viral load and presence of human herpesvirus 6 A and B genomic sequences in DNA extracted from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and buccal samples, presence of human herpesvirus 6 specific IgG class antibodies in plasma samples as well as levels of 9 different cytokines in plasma. Presence and viral load of human herpesvirus 6 A and B in DNA samples was determined using nested PCR and real time PCR (RealStar HHV-6 PCR kit 1.0, Altona Diagnostics, Germany), respectively. Presence of human herpesvirus 6 specific IgG class antibodies was measured using semi-quantitative ELISA-VIDITEST anti-HHV-6 IgG (VIDIA, Czech Republic). MILLIPLEX® Human Cytokine/Chemokine Magnetic Bead Panel - Immunology Multiplex Assay (Millipore, Sigma Aldrich, Germany) and Luminex200 instrument were used to detect cytokine (IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, IL-8/CXCL8/CXCL8, IL-9, IL-17A/CTLA8, IL-18, TNF-α) levels in plasma samples. Data also include information about 24 healthy controls age, gender, body mass index, viral load and presence of human herpesvirus 6 A and B genomic sequences in DNA samples extracted from PBMC, presence of human herpesvirus 6 specific IgG class antibodies and levels of 9 different cytokines in plasma. Data also contains European Nucleotide Archive access information for fibromyalgia patients and controls.
