Description
Given the limited amount of research on AI (artificial intelligence) competence in the public sector, the aim of this study was to explore AI competence of employees in Latvia’s national and municipal institutions. The goal was to better understand the role of workplace support in the development of AI competenceand how is employees’ trust in AI-generated information and their awareness of ethical issues associated with the use of AI tools.
The survey was distributed electronically via email. Email addresses of public sector employees in Latvia were obtained from official municipal websites, and an invitation to participate in the study, including a link to the online survey, was sent to all identified employees in municipalities. In total, 11,302 emails were sent, and 1,557 public sector employees participated in the study.
