Qualitative Research on Mental Health Challenges and Opportunities for Cultural and Health Sector Cooperation in Saldus Regional Municipality

Research objectives were: (1) to identify and analyse mental health challenges in the Saldus Regional municipality; (2) to assess the necessity and possibilities of cooperation between the cultural and health sectors in the Saldus Regional municipality; (3) to provide a basis for evaluating and applying the Arts on prescription Baltic model in the Saldus Regional municipality.
Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews with stakeholders across all three levels, including representatives from the cultural and health sectors (i.e., officials and unit leaders of the Saldus Regional municipality), professionals working in the fields of culture, social care, healthcare and residents of Saldus Regional municipality.
The dataset comprises 19 interview transcripts. All personal data of the interviewees have been anonymized. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim and analyzed using conventional qualitative content analysis. Interviews were conducted by telephone or online. Respondents were recruited using a convenience sampling approach.
