      Description

      Brief description of the instrument: The internal consistency indicators of the General Self-Efficacy Scale show adequate reliability and validity of the Latvian-translated version. The General Self–Efficacy Scale (GSE) consists of 10 statements designed to measure a person’s confidence in their abilities and skills when facing difficult life situations („When faced with difficulties, I remain calm because I can rely on my ability to overcome these difficulties”). The answer options were ranked on a Likert scale from 1 to 4, where 1 stands for „Strongly disagree” and 4 stands for „Strongly agree”

      Brief basic information about the psychometric indicators of the adapted or created instrument and the sample characteristics:

      Internal consistency:
      The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the survey shows good internal consistency of the survey (α=0.852, n=10 statements).

      Sample characteristics:
      The adaptation process took place from 2018 to 2020, the sample of respondents consisted of 240 respondents (active athletes) from various sports. The average age of the respondents was 20±1.75.
