      Description

      The internal consistency indicators of the Psychological Performance Inventory Alternative Version (PPA–A) show adequate reliability of the Latvian-translated version. The content of the “Determination” scale characterizes athletes’ self-motivation and goal-setting skills. The “Positive cognition” scale determines athletes’ ability to control their thoughts, ward off negative emotions, and helps to focus on task performance. The content of the “Self-belief” scale characterizes athletes’ ability to maintain positive thoughts and emotions during competition. The “Visualization” scale characterizes athletes’ ability to visualize.

      Internal consistency:
      The internal consistency properties of the alternative version of the Psychological Performance Inventory (PPI-A) show adequate reliability of the Latvian-translated version. The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the PPI-A survey is α= 0.809 (n=14 statements), with an amplitude in four scales from α=0.681 to α=0.727.

      Sample characteristics:
      The adaptation process took place from 2018 to 2020, the sample of respondents consisted of 240 respondents (active athletes) from various sports. The average age of the respondents was 20±1.75.
