Organisation profile
Organisation profile
A relatively small but well-shaped group under the scientific direction of Dr. Valentyn Mohylyuk consists of pharmaceutical and chemical scientists, specialists, and one engineer.
Long-term objectives
The long-term objective is to become a world-class research group and intellectual attraction site for academic and industrial collaboration. Thus, we are developing specific directions and facilities to build expertise in pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery and respective analytical methods.
Research directions
Among the research directions, we are highlighting the following:
· improving the solubility and bioavailability (BA) of poorly soluble drugs of oral dosage forms (ODF),
· optimization of the pharmacokinetics (PK) and custom properties of ODF,
· development of “special” ODF, incl. abuse-deterrent formulation,
· continuous manufacturing stages of solid DF,
· 3D printing and long-acting implants,
· extraction and analytical characterization.
Research techniques
We exploit solid-state characterization, compaction simulation, vacuum-compression-moulding sample preparation, mechanical, particle size distribution, molten materials and liquids rheology, powder and solid dosage form pharmaco-technological characterization, spectroscopic, and chromatographic methods to support our research activities.
Rotor-evaporation, air-jet micronization, high-shear and fluid-bed processing, hot-melt extrusion, vacuum-compression-moulding, roll-compaction, compaction simulation, tableting, fluid-bed and pan coating, capsule-filling, packaging, etc. are part of our technological toolkit.
Group activities
· the development of pharmaceutical technologies and analytical methods, incl. increasing the technology readiness level (TRL),
· close collaboration with international pharmaceutical companies, incl. development of products, technologies, and applications,
· application and performance of scientific projects (national and international level),
· scientific participation in the leading pharmaceutical events (focusing on the group's sci scope),
· supervising PhD and MS students' scientific works,
· collaboration with local and foreign academic institutions, incl. Erasmus programs.
We are open to cooperation
· in the above or related directions,
· in co-application/participation in founded scientific projects,
· build a reputation by publishing in reputable peer-reviewed journals,
· co-participating in prestigious international pharmaceutical events.
