Personal profile
Research interests
Research focuses on the development of alternative antimicrobial strategies, including the isolation and characterization of postbiotic compounds derived from probiotic bacteria. Particular attention is given to their potential to inhibit pathogenic bacterial growth and biofilm formation in veterinary and food production contexts. Additional areas of interest include the immunomodulatory effects of natural substances and their application in preventing antimicrobial resistance.
Teaching and supervising interests
Engagement in teaching microbiology and virology to veterinary medicine students, with emphasis on the practical understanding of bacteriology, mycology, and infectious disease diagnostics. Supervision of student research projects and final thesis in microbiology, with a focus on developing evidence-based approaches to veterinary diagnostics, antimicrobial use, and sustainable animal health management.
