Research interests

Romāns Gagunovs holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and currently serves as an acting lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Rīga Stradiņš University. His PhD research is situated at the intersection of politics and security, focusing on the sustainability of political parties and party associations in Latvia from the restoration of independence to the present day. His academic interests include political parties, elections, and governance, with an emphasis on both national and international political dynamics. In addition, his professional experience in the Latvian Parliament and Government further enriches his academic expertise.
