Since its establishment in 2017, the Military Medicine Research and Study Center of Rīga Stradiņš University contributes to the improvement of national security and defense capabilities by participating and coordinating local and international research activities in the field of humanities and medicine. Latvian researchers have strengthened cooperation between military and civilian scientists from at least 23 countries, and the scientific results obtained during the research provide new knowledge and practical recommendations, thus helping to improve the health and performance of both Latvian and NATO military personnel. Participation in NATO Science and Technology projects is a matter of honor and voluntary work for researchers, outside of basic work duties, thinking about Latvia's international recognition, national security and contribution to the common good of the entire society.
