This research project is based on original qualitative and quantitative data. It explores the opportunities and barriers to introducing carbon tax as a climate change mitigation mechanism in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Key findings

The introduction of carbon tax as a climate change mitigation mechanism in the Kyrgyz Republic is possible, but it requires a lot of consorted effort from the part of the Government, business communities and civil society.
