Project Details
Description
The Latvian society has poor dietary habits and obesity is increasing every year (Centre for Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia data: 45.1% in 2010, 58.7% in 2018). This contributes to the development of non-communicable diseases, reduced quality of life, and reduced life expectancy. Like us, scientists in Germany have difficulty implementing research results into practice. Our German peers have experience in conducting research into nudging at catering establishments to improve healthier eating habits in society, both in their own environment and in other cultures. They are interested to extend their research to other cultures, this time to the Baltic States.

Visits by guest lecturers from a German partner organisation and a guest lecture on nudging;
Planning and conducting a seminar on the use of nudging in promoting healthier eating habits in society;
Summary of the results by the guest lecturer visits, the workshop and the seminar;
Developing a plan for further research activities with the German partner organisation.
