Project Details

Description

RSU-RTU Grants
Rīga Stradiņš University and Riga Technical University carried out a scientific cooperation project during the period from February 2016 to February 2019 aimed at establishing inter-university research teams, conducting interdisciplinary and competitive studies. The project team worked on developing new derivatives of pentacyclic triterpenoid of lupane series who would have anti-tumour effect against rare tumours.

Activities of the project:
1. Betulin extraction technology from birch bark;
2. Betulonic acid derivatives C-H activation;
3. Synthesis of pentacyclic triterpenoid of lupane series – triazole conjugates;
4. Synthesis of pentacyclic triterpenoid of lupane series – isoxazole conjugates;
5. Substance verification in an isolated mitochondial model;
6. Optimisation of the most active structures;
7. Verification of the most active substances in cell cultures;
8. Verification of the most active substances in models in vivo;
9. Preparation of international project applications.
