Project Details
Description
The network of Occupational Therapy in the Nordic and Baltic Countries was established in 1992 with member universities from five major Nordic Countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark. Approximately ten years ago partners from Baltic countries joined and within the last 2 years two new members - one from the Baltic and one from the Nordic area have joined our network. As the only occupational therapy network in Nordplus, the University representatives collaborate to reach a high quality education, to achieve development and research through increased mobility, and to support relations and cooperation between the partner institutions. An overall aim is to create a common knowledge base regarding occupational therapy education, practice and development within the collaborating universities in the member countries. Enabling collaborations through students and teachers exchange is indispensable in developing practice as well as the development of the main subject of occupational therapy, where the cross-cultural aspects are beneficial. We aim to continue developing internationalization possibilities for our students, including short and long-term mobilities as well as courses and other activities provided in English in our universities which are offered to partners as a supplement to placement. In recent years, we have added a rotating intensive course (IC) as part of the annual agenda and in order to have the course rotating among the network members.
