    Description

    Objective: To investigate the socio-economic context of food waste generation in Latvian society and food production and distribution enterprises, as well as to assess the potential role of food waste prevention or valorisation in the Latvian economy.
    Planned activities:
    Develop and conduct a nationally representative survey of food waste generation habits in Latvian households.
    Develop and conduct a survey on food loss and waste and its management in the production, distribution and food service enterprises.
    Media monitoring to assess the coverage and relevance of food waste problems in Latvian society.
    Process and analyse collected data to assess the socio-economic context of the food waste problem in Latvia.
    Prepare and submit a manuscript on the results for publication in an international scientific journal and prepare a presentation for an international scientific conference.
