    Abstract

    Artificial intelligence (AI) has swiftly entered dentistry, with image analysis being the most common application. This chapter outlines where AI has found to be useful in cariology, i.e., the diagnosis and management of dental caries. It describes the current body of evidence and highlights limitations and challenges of AI for cariology.
