Abstract
This chapter explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dental education, focusing on the opportunities AI offers to enhance learning through personalized feedback, diagnostic training, and clinical simulations. Generative AI models like ChatGPT provide broader capabilities than traditional AI. However, data privacy, bias, and academic integrity persist, requiring careful management. As AI becomes more embedded in dental education, it is essential to promote AI literacy, ensuring that future dental professionals understand its limitations and avoid overreliance, which could lead to automation bias. The chapter proposes a core AI curriculum, addressing foundational knowledge, practical applications, and ethical considerations. Integrating AI into dental education will improve learning outcomes and improve patient care, as clinicians equipped with AI knowledge can apply these tools responsibly and effectively. Institutions are encouraged to adapt curricula, invest in AI infrastructure, and establish clear guidelines for its use, promoting innovation while upholding ethical standards.
