Abstract

Challenges in Pleural Pathology - Diagnostics, Treatment and Research is devoted to the state-of-the-art, pitfalls, and perspectives in the diagnostics and treatment of pleural pathology, ranging from effusions, inflammation, and fibrosis to tumors. It summarizes the classic concepts and innovations in the diagnosis, treatment, and scientific studies of pleural pathology, resulting in a clinically oriented reference as well as a source of ideas for relevant clinical and basic research. Chapters address pleural pathology in childhood, pleural tuberculosis, pleural mesothelioma, serositis, and pleuroparenchymal fibroelastosis in patients who have undergone transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells or a lung.
