Abstract

To improve hearing in cases of irreversible damage of the eardrum and auditory ossicles, methods of sound isolation of the round window with porous silicone elastomer were carried out in 80 patients. Two methods were used: 1. modification of inserting a vulcanized silicone rubber sponge in the recessus hypotympanicus, 2. modification of surgical implantation of the porous silicone in front of the round window.
