Abstract
This article studies the development of children's music listening skills under the influence of dramatic play as a teaching method. It identifies problems related to music listening within the pre-school pedagogical process from the point of view of music teachers. The aim of the study is to discover the impact of dramatic play on children's music listening skills. Methods. The theoretical methods: analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature. The empirical research methods: pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, inquiry. The outcomes. In the framework of empirical study the assumption that using elements of dramatic play provides positive effect on children's music listening skills was confirmed. Children who acquired the experimental music listening learning content by means of dramatic play showed higher results in emotional responsiveness, musical memory and musical thinking. Conclusion. Using of dramatic play provides positive effect on children's music listening skills and children's musical development in general. The issue of using dramatic play in the pre-school musical practice requires systemic methodological approach.
