Glasgow Coma Scale, imaging biomarkers, and D-dimer in outcome prediction after spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between clinical severity, radiological biomarkers, and admission D-dimer levels in patients with spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). We sought to assess whether D-dimer provides additional prognostic information beyond established clinical measures, such as the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), and imaging-based predictors including haematoma volume, intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH), infratentorial origin, and the ICH score. A further objective was to identify independent predictors of in-hospital mortality in this patient population.
