Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become prevalent in this recent decade and especially in the last year. The aim of  the study is to determine technophobia level among students. 200 undergraduate students in the Riga Stradiņš university participated in the study. Technophobia was assessed using Rosen and Weil’s Measuring Technophobia Instruments which determine anxiety, cognitions and attitudes towards computer technology. In the study descriptive statistical method is used. The results of the study showed that the respondents had a moderate level of computer anxiety but  approximately less than a third of the students show moderate to high levels of technophobia. This study concluded that computer anxiety is a feeling commonly experienced by many students. It is recommended to train and equip adult university students with sufficient computer skills prior to conducting any e-Learning programmes.
