Abstract

Asthma is a complex chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that involves the activation of many inflammatory and structural cells, all of which release inflammatory mediators, this results in the typical pathophysiological changes of asthma. Respectively in this time reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitrogen species release from lung cells. We used Luminol-Chemiluminescence (CHL) method for ROS determination. Results suggest, that after two months of selenium supplementation increased parameters of LPO in blood of patients diminished till control rates, so CHL could be further denned as the objective indicator of bronchial obstructive diseases in the estimation of improvement of patient's life quality.
