Abstract
The investigation results of the effect of bis(4-oxyphenyl)sulphide (BS) on the organism of test animals and substantiation of BS maximum allowable concentration in the production area air are presented. A moderate BS toxicity is established in case of a single intragastric introduction. BS can cause disorders of oxidation-reduction processes, weakly cumulates in the organism, has no allergic properties and skin-resorptive effect. Local skin action is manifested weakly. The recommended BS maximum allowable concentration in the production area air is 2 mg÷m3 (3 class of hazard, aerosol).
