Abstract
The authors of the article represent Riga Stradiņš University. M. Moors is a lecturer, but M. Lārmane is a graduate of the masters study program “Social Work”. As part of M. Lārmane’s masters studies, during the first half of 2020, the authors carried out a study on solving ethical dilemmas in the conditions of limited human resources. The aim of the article is not to reflect on all the results of this study, but instead focus on a few aspects of the study and the information obtained. The aspect that emerged relatively unexpectedly during the study was that the problem of insufficient staff resources not only creates ethical dilemmas and inconveniences for social workers and management, but also limits social workers’ opportunities to devote adequate time to customer situations, (consciously or not) affecting social work formalization.
