Abstract

The pharmaceutical sector in Baltic Countries goes forward to the EU integration process by the same way, but there are some specific aspects that effect this process in each country. These differences are based on historical, demographic, social and economical trends. However, the pharmaceutical sector in each country is characterised as the substantial part of the health care on the one hand and the pharmaceutical business on another hand. This dilemma complicates the process of development of the pharmaceutical sector as business. Taking into account that pharmacy has strong impact on the health of inhabitants, it is defined as area under requirements of the conformity assessment and strict state control according to the EU legislation. This paper is devoted to the exploration of the development tendencies of the pharmaceutical sector in Baltic Countries in view of the EU integration process.
