Abstract

Burns are probably the most devastating form of trauma as its short- and longterm consequences leave severe squeal. Survival and morbidity depend fundamentally on the initial approach which is essential for its proper management. The main pillars in their treatment are adequate water therapy, airway management and comprehensive surgical treatment which are addressed in this chapter.
