Abstract
In the article, the author provides insights into the annual discussion camp of the Latvian Social Workers Association, focusing on the theme “Prestige of Social Work.” The author emphasizes that the prestige of the social work profession is shaped on various levels. Additionally, the role of each social worker is underscored, highlighting that the prestige of social work is not only a matter of external recognition but also involves our internal conviction and role in society as a whole and in the lives of specific individuals. This encompasses the community of social workers’ attention to current issues in the profession and mutual support, which is a crucial precondition for the development of the social work profession.
